3. Whats the difference between a crater and a vent? ?

A crater is caused by an impact (such as a meteor crater) or an explosion, such as the crater atop Mt. St. Helen's. Volcanic vents are openings in the crust, usually within the crater of a volcano, where magma (molten rock) and volcanic gases escape from the volcano's interior. Typically, a volcano's crater may contain several vents. A single vent can consist of a single round opening, or a larger or smaller fissure or fracture. Just look up "volcanic vent" and "volcanic crater" or "Meteor crater" Bottom line: one is caused by a massively destructive force, the other is a slower, less destructive process.

4. Do you need to vent about anything?

School is going to be so stressful. Finals are coming up soon, and I am worried my math teacher wo not help us review for it. She's a terrible teacher and hardly ever explains anything. She even yells at our class. And I have a new class next symmester and everyone says the teacher is mean. Great.

5. Can I close the garage vent on my furnace?

There is no reason to leave the vent open, dumping warm air into your uninsulated garage, unless you intend to do some work there on a cold day. Even then, it might still arguably be smarter to just bundle up.Close the vent

6. condensation/ice in the vent fan over my stove?

The vent flapper is either stuck open, or winter winds are blowing it open, causing the problem

7. Converting Wall heat vent to floor vent.?

This sounds more like a common arrangement of a return air vent, rather than a 'heat' vent. Are your other vents on walls at the same height, lower, or in the floor? If they are lower, or in the floor, I would be willing to bet this is a return vent trunk. If it is a return vent, and you disconnect it, the upstairs will not get the air movement it needs to properly heat and/or cool that level. I would suggest you plan on rerouting the duct, at the very least. And do not forget, if this is a load bearing wall, you need to run some headers across the space to bear the load off to posts/columns on either side of the opening. I would seriously recommend that you have a few contractors come in, and give you some estimates, and pick their brains, or have a structural engineer, and/or hvac service check it out. Good Luck

8. How can i divert my dryer vent?

Extend your vent through the shed and out the other side. The more bends you put in a vent the more back pressure is created and the less efficient the dryer = use more energy to dry. Use solid galvanized [usaully 4'] vent, not the flex duct as it creates too much back pressure for a longer rund.

9. how to clean the dryer vent on a stackable unit?

Open the dryer door, at the bottom of the door opening there should be a lint trap, or at least an opening for a lint trap. If you see no lint trap and no opening, than it's somewhere else and I can not help you. If you see an opening and there is no lint trap, you are in trouble. That means all the lint has been going through the vent line and the vent line is probably clogged. I've never had a stackable, but I am assuming that would be the most logical location for the lint trap because that's where older dryers used to have them placed. Newer dryers seem to have them located above the dryer. But on a stackable, I am just not sure

Has Anyone Ever Been on a Ventilator?
Has anyone ever been on a ventilator?I love what Griff said about weaning off the vent is an art. He is right on. My husband was on a ventilator for 8 months in the hospital. Although his condition was different then yours. My husband has emphysema. I can not say that the Docs did not try everything they could because they did. Lots of different doctors & several Pulmonary doctors. When a younger Pulmonary doctor came on staff, new to this hospital, he had my husband off that vent in less then a week. He put the vent on very different settings then it had been & it worked like magic, (I could have hugged that doctor all day long). For myself, being at that hospital so long, I learned that not everyone reacts to the same treatments or medicines in the same way. But it would not hurt to request another Pulmonary doctor to get active on your case.— — — — — —How do I keep the sewer vent on the roof from icing over?USA In very cold climates, the top of the vent will frost over and block the vent. The International plumbing Code requires a minimum 3" diameter vent pipe in that situation. Have the vent pipe changed to a minimum 3" diameter. This can be accomplished by cutting the pipe off a few feet below the roof, and installing an adapter on the pipe to enlarge the pipe to 3 inch - or larger if you want. Install larger pipe up through the roof to a height at least one foot higher than any roof surface within two feet horizontally from the vent pipe.— — — — — —We just had a balloon go into the intake vent that had a cover improperly installed. Where will it go? HELP?Relax, it will lodge in the vent until it deflates, then if lightweight enough to get pulled further into the ductwork it will get caught by the filter (assuming that you have not taken the filter out and not replaced it)— — — — — —Why are 2 Story Homes SO COLD? BRRRRRRR?Well your upper rooms should be warmer than the lower rooms. I would think you have a vent open to the attic and warm air is being drawn off through the vent. check to see if you have a attic fan installed upstairs you can lose all the heat there if it does not seal off good.— — — — — —Hydrothermal ventA hydrothermal vent is a fissure on the seafloor from which geothermally heated water issues. Hydrothermal vents are commonly found near volcanically active places, areas where tectonic plates are moving apart at spreading centers, ocean basins, and hotspots. Hydrothermal deposits are rocks and mineral ore deposits formed by the action of hydrothermal vents. Hydrothermal vents exist because the earth is both geologically active and has large amounts of water on its surface and within its crust. Under the sea, hydrothermal vents may form features called black smokers or white smokers. Relative to the majority of the deep sea, the areas around submarine hydrothermal vents are biologically more productive, often hosting complex communities fueled by the chemicals dissolved in the vent fluids. Chemosynthetic bacteria and archaea form the base of the food chain, supporting diverse organisms, including giant tube worms, clams, limpets and shrimp. Active hydrothermal vents are thought to exist on Jupiter's moon Europa, and Saturn's moon Enceladus, and it is speculated that ancient hydrothermal vents once existed on Mars.— — — — — —isn't the pluming vent stack supposed to be under the roofing?A Metal Roof is different than a shingled roof.A hole is cut through the metal sheet,(for the vent) then the edge of the hole is rolled up about a 1/2 inch or more vertical to the sheet, similar to how it's bent under the ridge cap.It prevents water from running over the edge. The vent pipe should have been right at the ridge cap, with the flashing tucked under the ridge cap edge. Is the stack rubber, if it is, I would not change anything except to partially close some of hole for drainage,.The holes are too big, .In a strong wind rain water can be pushed up the roof, and in those cracks.— — — — — —Water Pressure Very Low, please help. You must have an air lock somewhere in the piping that needs to be vented out. If you cannot find out where the vent is, the best bet is to call a plumber.
