Is Rain Water Equvelant to Distilled Water?

No. Distilled water is very clean, pure water. Suspended minerals have been removed in the distilling process as well as most other chemicals.

Rain water will have minerals in it that were once suspended in the air. Water moisture condenses around a small bit of dust or other particle in the air to become a rain drop. Air pollution is incorporated in the rain when it does this. It's the minerals that can hurt your battery. They build up over time and can cause problems with the chemical operation of the battery or even short out some of the plates in the cells.

Rain water may have less minerals in it than some of todays water supplies but isn't as clean as it once was. This may have worked well in the past I wouldn't do it in todays world. I always use distilled water. By the way, this is also why steam irons recommend you use distilled water in them.

Some city water systems have what is called "hard" water. This is water with a lot of minerals still in it. Southern California is well known for hard water. The minerals build up very rapidly on shower walls and in shower heads and such. This same problem is what will harm a battery if you use water with a high mineral content.

Development cooperation of water distribution

Even though both countries had ties in the 1960s, deeper ties with the signing of an agreement in 1985. The agreement was the first bilateral agreement between Kenya and Italy, it covered cooperation in the technical, economic and development. Between 1985-2010 Kenya has received KES. 16.7 billion (EUR. 160 million) as development assistance from Italy and KES. 5.2 billion (EUR. 50 million) in soft loans.

Key areas for Kenya and Italian cooperation are:

Health

Water

Natural Resources and Environment

Urban DevelopmentIn 2011, more than 50 students went to study in Italy, the number is expected to increase. There's an Italian Institute of Culture in Nairobi, Kenya.

San Marco ProjectThe project is an initiative by the Italian government to increase space exploration. In Kenya both countries have cooperated to create the Broglio Space Centre in Malindi, Kilifi County. The Space Centre has been active since 1964.

Kurt Krumpholz of water world

Kurt Krumpholz is a former American swimmer. He represented the United States at the 1973 World Aquatics Championships in Belgrad, where he won two medals. At the 1972 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, Krumpholz set the world record in the prelims of the 400-meter freestyle. However, in the final, Krumpholz placed sixth, not making the Olympic team. The following year, Krumpholz won a gold medal in the 4200-meter freestyle relay and a silver medal in the 200-meter freestyle at the 1973 World Aquatics Championships. His gold in the 4200-meter freestyle relay came in world record time. Krumpholz was initially a water polo player for UCLA and only swam to stay in shape. Before his world record swim, Krumpholz swam the event only three times. Krumpholz's son, J. W. Krumpholz, is a water polo player and Olympic silver medallist from the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Getting classified of water transfer

Swimming classification for S1 swimmers generally has three components. The first is a bench press. The second is water test. The third is in competition observation. As part of the water test, swimmers are often required to demonstrate their swimming technique for all four strokes. They usually swim a distance of 25 meters for each stroke. They are also generally required to demonstrate how they enter the water and how they turn in the pool.

In Australia, to be classified in this category, athletes contact the Australian Paralympic Committee or their state swimming governing body. In the United States, classification is handled by the United States Paralympic Committee on a national level. The classification test has three components: "a bench test, a water test, observation during competition." American swimmers are assessed by four people: a medical classified, two general classified and a technical classifier.

Honeycomb whipray of water pollution

The honeycomb whipray (Himantura undulata) is a species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae, found widely in the shallow coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific from India to the Malay Archipelago. This large species grows to 1.3m (4.3ft) across and has a diamond-shaped disc with rounded corners and a projecting, pointed snout. Its tail is long and whip-like, without fin folds. Adults have a striking dorsal color pattern consisting of large, dark brown rings and reticulations delineated by thin yellow lines, while juveniles have a pattern of large dark spots. This ray can also be distinguished from its similar relatives by an enlarged, pearl-like dermal denticle at the center of the back, which is followed by a few thorns. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has assessed the honeycomb whipray as Vulnerable, as it faces heavy fishing pressure and habitat degradation across much of its range.

Albanian water frog of agricultural pollution

The Albanian water frog (Pelophylax shqipericus) is a species of true frog (family Ranidae) and is native to Albania and Montenegro. As its common name suggests, it prefers aquatic environments. The Albanian water frog is an endangered species and known populations are currently in decline. Significant threats to its habitat are presented by pollution and by drainage of wetlands, and a more direct threat is the aggressive collection of the species for commercial purposes.

The frogs are medium-sized and males sometimes bear a distinctive bright green stripe down the length of the backbone. Otherwise males are green to light brown in overall colouring with large black or dark brown spots. Females are olive green or light brown in colour and also bear brown or black large spots. As befits a species that prefers wetland habitats, the webbing on the feet extends to the tips of the toes.

Trevemper of water bridge

Trevemper is a hamlet to the south of Newquay, Cornwall, United Kingdom, on the west bank of the River Gannel at the rivers lowest bridging point.

Coal was shipped from Wales to the River Gannel and unloaded at Trevemper and Penpol Creek during the 18th century, and transported to the smelting works at Truro.

Trevemper Bridge crosses the River Gannel, and was built in the early 19th century to replace the old packhorse bridge, first mentioned in 1613, which may date back to the 16th century. Historic England have registered the bridge as a Grade II listed building and an Ancient Monument. Two arches were washed away by storm-water in 1839 and the bridge was consequently repaired with only one arch. It was closed to traffic in 1939 after a larger bridge had been built nearby in 1925, which carries the A3075 Trevemper to Chiverton Cross, Blackwater.

Nearby is another ancient monument, Trevemper Mill.

Water sports of stud farm

The Lauter is a popular canoe waterway with different levels of difficulty. Above Buttenhausen the river is closed all year round, from Buttenhausen to Unterwilzingen in the period from March 15 to June 30. Exceptional approvals for individual drivers can be granted by the Naturschutzbehrde Ulm (nature conservation authority Ulm) for the section Anhausen to Unterwilzingen. Organized rides, commercial rentals and events require a year-round permit.

In order to avoid over-exploitation of the water body, it is not permitted to drive on weekends and public holidays between Buttenhausen and Anhausen from 1 July to 30 September. Furthermore, there are minimum and maximum values for the water level for the traffic: In Indelhausen at the grain mill 30 cm is the minimum level, a minimum level of 45 cm is recommended. For the section between Unterwilzingen and the mouth of the Danube, a pass at a level of 75 cm and more at Lauterach is not permitted.

Avulsion and riparian owners of properties of water

The distinction between avulsion and accretion becomes important where a river forms the boundary between two riparian owners. In many jurisdictions, if the river changes channels by avulsion, the boundary does not change but remains in the middle of the old channel. For example, the Mississippi River forms the boundary between several U.S. states, the principle being the reason that states on the lower Mississippi have occasional pieces of land on the opposite side from the rest of the state. The river changed course quickly in such locations and so the boundaries did not change.) However, as a river gradually changes through accretion, the boundary changes with it.

To prove that a change was avulsion and not accretion, it is sufficient, at least under Oklahoma law, for the owner of land that was washed away to point out approximately as much land added to the opposite bank as washed away from his bank.

Name of water world

Jare was attested in written records in 1438 as Jarischach (and as Jerischa in 1451). The name is derived from the plural demonym *Jariane 'residents of Jarie'. This name is probably based on the obsolete common noun *jara 'heat (of the sun)', referring to a place characterized by such heat. A less likely hypothesis derives the name from the adjective jar 'sown in spring' or 'weak' or 'angry' because the suffix -ie is not found with adjectival roots, and also for accentual reasons. Both accentual reasons and the local geography rule out derivation of the name from jar 'place where the water foams'. The old village center to the north is known as Stare Jare (literally, 'old Jare') or Spodnje Jare (literally, 'lower Jare'), and the newer part to the south as Nove Jare (literally, 'new Jare') or Zgornje Jare (literally, 'upper Jare').

Anne of water and weight loss

Anne was a supply ship of about 140 tons displacement which was used in 1623, along with Little James, to deliver a large contingent of new settlers to Plymouth Colony. Anne was the larger of the two ships and most of the passengers traveled in her. Annes master was William Peirce, a young man of Ratcliffe, London. He was a member of the Adventurers investment group and had made many trans-Atlantic voyages. William Bradford quoted by author Charles Edward Banks gives the date of arrival of Anne at Plymouth as being July 10, 1623 with the pinnace Little James arrival being, per Bradford ..about a week or so after came in the pinnass (sic). Author Caleb Johnson reports Little James arrived in Plymouth on August 5, 1623. Soon after arrival, the crew of Anne went to work loading cargo of whatever timber and beaver skins could be provided as cargo and sailed straight back across the Atlantic to home.

Punjab Khal Panchayat Authority of water distribution

Punjab Khal Panchayat Authority was established under the Punjab Khal Panchayat Ordinance 2019 on 22 May 2019 to handle warabandi in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The ordinance was later adopted as Punjab Khal Panchayat Act on 13 December 2019. After the promulgation of Punjab Khal Panchayat Ordinance on 22 May, 2019, the Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority Act 1997 was repealed and Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (PIDA) was also abolished along with its Area Water Boards (AWBs) and Farmer Organizations (FOs).

The authority has been established with a view to ensure implementation of warabandi (rotational program) in letter & spirit resulting minimizing the water disputes and distribution of Irrigation Water Supplies to all the water users. The objective of public participation in decision making process is being achieved through the establishment of Khal Panchayats at outlet level in all over the Punjab which focuses that farmers managed their problems at grass root level in cordial relationship with Technical Experts of Punjab Irrigation Department.

Can Boiling Water Purify It? What's a Good Water Medium Sized Water Filter?
Can Boiling Water Purify It? What's a Good Water Medium Sized Water Filter?
Boiling kills most microorganisms. It may or may not help with the taste. They SHOULD test your water without charge to you. Once the water is tested, the provider might correct the problem or tell you what you have to do to correct it yourself. It depends on where the problem is. In the meantime, try running your drinking water through a carbon filter, like the Brita.1. How do you make an emergency water filter and purifier?Much like Charlie's gravity filter in a bottle, this filter is essentially the same, only using a cone of tree bark in place of the bottle, and using extra filtration layers instead of a coffee filter or bit of cloth:Using a shirt, or bag with a hole in the bottom, or whatever bits of material you can spare, you can set up a tripod filter as shown below: Images: Pinterest, of all places...These filters appear to only be effective at cleaning the water of dirt and debris, boiling the water is still recommended for purifying the water and killing anything that might make it through your filter, though any poisons should be mostly absorbed by the charcoal. What remains to be discovered is what could potentially be used in either of these systems to purify the water as much as possible without boiling. The following are layers you can include in your filter, and what they accomplish:2. black stuff in brita water filter? If you read the instructions, you would know that you have to rinse the filter a lot before using it. The black stuff is just carbon, it wo not kill you3. What happens if you run milk through a pur or brita water filter? You get a dirty Brita filter that needs replacing4. What's better, Brita Faucet-Mount Water Filter or the Pitcher Water Filter or do thy work the same?lol, i had both. double filtered my water. The faucet one, it was HUGE. but it did work well. The pitcher I just had to toss because the kids forgot to refill it. It ended up kinda smelly. Go with the faucet.5. M17A2 gas mask does water filter?Ok dude here is the deal. I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years in the Infantry. The Gas mask has a carbon filter which does not filter the water. Like the other guy said there is a drinking tube that is folded up in where the one way valves are that let the air out and not let air in. What he did not tell you is that the drinking tube only hooks up to a Standard issued canteen. there is a cover or supposed to be a cover on the very top of the canteen which covers a hole and plastic that hooks up to the drinking tube. You hook it up and then turn the canteen over and gravity pushes the water into the tube and you drink it. I have done this so many times in the gas chamber with tear gas pellets. I was in charge of my Battalion getting Gassed. Oh and by the way just hope you never run into something other than tear gas with those masks because most of the chemicals weapons that would be used, well the carbon in the filters will melt and not work as little as 20min to 2 hours. Now that is good because it gives you a chance to get out of the "Kill Zone" but most of the weapons do not just come down and drop gas they explode and then release the gas, chemical, or nerve agent. Hope that helps6. Is there an expiry date for Brita water filter?I had mine for 2 years--- I would exchange it every two years or 1.5 years (:7. I want to set up a water filter for my kitchen sink.?First off I've been doing water treatment for 13 years. if your water is 33 grains hard a filter will barely help. The most you will hope to accomplish is having better tasting water with a carbon filter. You really need to start with a water softener. I would recommend Kinetico brand units the best by far. Your ice is bad because of the minerals being trapped in the ice. The minerals will not be caught by an in line filter. Its like expecting the color of Kool-aid to go away by pouring it through a T-Shirt. The hardness will need to be removed by a chemical reaction with what is inside the softener. (do not be frightened its not actually chemical its called ion exchange) If you are concerned about the water i would add a R.O. system (reverse osmosis) Use this for all your cooking and drinking. It is great water. Again 13 years If you still just want a filter I would go with one you mount under your sink and can change it by unscrewing a standardized canister. Do not get one that uses a specialized proprietary filter, unless they are really special they normally just do that to get your money. Some however do more than just filter. Good luck and do your homework.

Problem with Concrete Poured Incorrectly and Pooling Water?
Problem with Concrete Poured Incorrectly and Pooling Water?
Problem with concrete poured incorrectly and pooling water?I can not envision how a drain could be installed logically. Your right, the only place a drain water can go is down....sounds like blowing smoke to get you off his back! I have done work in patching, putting in and things of that nature, but have never tried to regrade so as to correct water collection. I would call the Building Inspector and ask if they could possibly give you some advice on how to resolve - and possibly he will tell you of another contractor who can affect a repair that wo not be major. Things like this is what got me into doing my own work years ago, you play, they do it unsatisfactorily and your supposed to be happy - wrong!! He should have been able to visualize the problem before the cement hardened. Good luck and I hope you get it resolved.— — — — — —the only water my dog will drink, is the pool water?Pool water is bad because of chlorine. Do not let him near that pool unsupervised. Take him to the vet immediately if you see lumps on him. And may be you can get him a kiddie pool and fill it with fresh water. May be he will drink from that. Good Luck and see a vet.— — — — — —My pool water is green - do I need to shock treat it?Regular use of the pool will increase the organic matter in the pool water that in turn will lower the efficiency of the sanitiser being used. A shock treatment will burn these organic materials out of the water and therefore allow the sanitiser to do its job properly. It may also become necessary to shock treat a pool if the water turns green due to an algae bloom. When you shock treat a pool you are looking to increase the level of sanitising / oxidising chemical by a minimum of 3 times the normal amount— — — — — —Everytime I jump in the pool, water goes up my nose and it hurts very bad..?just hold ur nose tighter ........ i dont plug my nose at all and water doesnt get in my nose— — — — — —Whats good to use to getting pool water clear.?A working filtration system as well as chlorination and/or bromination to prevent algae and bacteria growth in the water— — — — — —what do you do when your dog has drank a lot of pool water? Not a great problem, the dog's digestive system is not so fragile— — — — — —The time required to fill a pool with a water hose is 30 hours. Using a pump the pool can be filled in 10hoses?You mean the pool can be filled in 10 HOURS, not HOSES, right? So every hour the pump pumps 1/10 of the pool. Every hour a hose pumps 1/30. If you have 2 hoses and a pump, that's 2/301/10 every hour, which equals 5/30, which equals 1/6. So if every hour 1/6 is filled, it will take 6 hours.— — — — — —Why does pool water feel colder than air?the water just has more mass. just as metal would feel hotter than air because it is thicker. its the same basic theory. there are more molecules absorbing your heat in the pool than there are in the air so the pool feels colder even if it is hotter. when you get out of the pool, the air is taking the water away and evaporating it and along with the water it takes some of your body heat, causing an impulse in your survival senses making you shiver.— — — — — —How do I adjust my pool water leveler (float)?it adjusts like a toilet float set it lower for less water the easiest wat to set it is to put the pool at the level you want it to be then adjust the auto fill until it just turns off— — — — — —How long to wait before getting into a pool after you have shocked it.?All shock does is super chlorinate the pool water and as long as your not swallowing the water and not opening your eyes under water I would say a couple (2) hours would be alright. So cool off and have fun. Besides if it's real sunny and hot your chlorine is getting eaten up quick anyway!!!
Old Water, Some Years Old, Can I Safely Drink It After Treat It Like This?
Old Water, Some Years Old, Can I Safely Drink It After Treat It Like This?
Was this water prepared for storage or just filled out of the tap? If prepared for storage by boiling the water first, sterilizing the container, and then adding a cc of chlorine bleach, then it is likely you can drink it, even after several years. I have a bunch of 2L plastic bottles I did this with in my garage in my disaster kit. If, on the other hand, you simply filled the bottle from the tap, it is likely chock full of a bacteria colony which would not do well in your digestive tract. Freezing by itself does not kill off all bacteria but it will kill off some. However, boiling on the other hand does kill off most of the bad guys. Places that sell camping equipment also sell water purification kits which are useful in a pinch, but are expensive for the amount of water you can purify.1. When to stop sterlizing baby plastic bottles, nipples, and rings.?As soon as baby is puting things in its own mouth you can stop steralizing as there is no point. (you cant steralize everything!) I only ever used the boiling method for the first time use of nipple shields, after that i just used to wash them in soapy water and swill them off with a kettle of boiling water. (I only used bottles on baby number 1 and she was crawling round when she went on bottles so no steralizing needed) Hot soapy water wash and a very hot rinse should be just fine until shes 4-6 months, after that i would just wash as per the rest of the families food items.2. Why does my cat lick plastic bottles? How can I stop it?You do not mention if these are brand new plastic bottles or if they've been handled by people. If they've been handled, the cat might be trying to get salt/minerals which would have come off the hands of a person. To test this, leave a little sea salt on a plate. ..see if the cat likes it. Sea salt is better than table salt because it has many more minerals, not just sodium3. how much is plastic bottles recycling worth?? approximately..?Depends on where you live. Several states have a 5 cent deposit. Michigan has a 10 cent deposit4. Is it save to use Plastic Bottles from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)?plastic bottles are mostly made of PET. better safe than never.. use crystal bottles.. its much safer.5. Did you know that reusing plastic bottles is bad for your health?I always refill mine & nothing bad has happened to me yet. I also eat rare meat, unpasteurized cheese & (gasp!) use plastic containers in the microwave6. Do energy drinks like the ones in the small plastic bottles work better than a cup of coffee?Stay away from sugar loaded energy drinks. Best using a cuppa black coffee (unsweetened), or try guarana7. What can I grow in plastic bottles that provides food and is sustainable? Those bottles would work as pots for plants as long as you make sure they have a big drainage hole at the bottom and that you do not use your garden soil for soil in these bottles. The only soil you should think about using is the cheapest sterilized potting soil available. A little fertilizer is critical. Proper watering; not too much not too little. ..and yes you could grow food in them. Have you ever grown vegetables in the garden? In regular pots? These bottles are 1 gallon. Way too big to grow tiny plants or seeds at first. Way too small for some vegetables such as tomatoes as an end pot. The pot you will harvest from. ..tomatoes require at least 5 gallon, 10 gallon pots...using only potting soil. There are huge reasons for this rule. What have you got going for property? Patio? Experience. You will not be able to shovel garden soil in these bottles, put a seed in them and grow food. There is a bit more work involved to ensure you do not waste your time, not much! Fill us in with more details, where you live, your experience, what you would like to grow, will these plants be indoors or will they be out of doors?
How Very Fine Solid Particles Are Removed From Water in a Water Treatment Plant
How Very Fine Solid Particles Are Removed From Water in a Water Treatment Plant
The very fine particles present in a water treatment plant are often the clays - materials that used to be rock or sand, but now well decomposed from their original form. Clays may be removed by precipitation - by binding them with lime, which reacts with them to form a flocculant. A material that now occupies a greater volume, and will settle out for further treatment by simple filtration. How do I test significant differences between slopes of 4 different regression lines? I am measuring leaf area expansion rate of plants getting different water treatments. You didn't mention if you wanted to test the slopes for differences pairwise or as a set of four; but the method is the same.Just re-estimate any model for "all slopes and intercepts different" by restricting it to be "intercepts different; slopes the same". Twice the difference in log-likelihood will be distributed Chi-square with DF = the number of slopes you have restricted. If it's pairwise, that will be DF = 1 on each.A more detailed explanation is here: Chow test, although I prefer using the Likelihood Ratio Test directly. How do I test significant differences between slopes of 4 different regression lines? I am measuring leaf area expansion rate of plants getting different water treatments. Can I use multiple water treatments for my fish tank?I would not suggest using multipule water treatments, but if you decide to, make sure to carefully read all of the containers. But medicine should only be used if you know that you need it. Unless your beta already has problems that those could fix, I do not think that you should do it.what are the vector, host,of giardia?Giardia infects humans, but is also one of the most common parasites infecting cats, dogs and birds. Mammalian hosts also include cows, beavers, deer, and sheep. Giardia infection can occur through ingestion of dormant cysts in contaminated water, food, or by the faecal-oral route (through poor hygiene practices). The Giardia cyst can survive for weeks to months in cold water, and therefore can be present in contaminated wells and water systems, especially stagnant water sources such as naturally occurring ponds, storm water storage systems, and even clean-looking mountain streams. They may also occur in city reservoirs and persist after water treatment, as the Giardia cysts are resistant to conventional water treatment methods such as chlorination and ozonolysis. Zoonotic transmission is also possible, and therefore Giardia infection is a concern for people camping in the wilderness or swimming in contaminated streams or lakes, especially the artificial lakes formed by beaver dams (hence the popular name for giardiasis, "Beaver Fever"). In addition to waterborne sources, fecal-oral transmission can also occur, for example in day care centers, where children may have poor hygiene practices. Those who work with children are also at risk of being infected, as are family members of infected individuals. Not all Giardia infections are symptomatic, and many people can unknowingly serve as carriers of the parasite. EDIT: To below: A vector is 'Vector is a phrase used in parasitology and entomology to describe a special type of intermediate host for parasites.' This means that it's the thing which transfers the disease, or disease carrying microbe (in this instance). Regarding DNA you are correct, but the word has more than one use.How long does it take for 5 gallons of water to dechlorinate? If your tap water is treated with Chloramine, about a month. Go and get some water conditioner. Nothing can live in Chloramine treated water, not fish, not plants, not even the vital cycle bacteria that keep your tank running properly. This is why they use it for water treatment. ] Also, if you only have a 5gal tank, and multiple fish in there, the overcrowding and 100% water changes are likely to kill your fish anyway, even if the water is conditioned. IanWhat do i need to start up a fresh water fish tank?yup, need more gravel, hood, lights, filter, heater, maybe air pump/ air line, power strip, decorations, water treatment (stress-zyme/coat ETC.) and the almighty water test kit! set it up all pretty the way you want it, find out the Ph you need for the fish you will be keeping (adjust with test kit and appropriate chemicals), and begin to cycle the tank. there are things you can buy to speed up the maturing of the water (bottles of bio load) but the longer you cycle the tank the better..oh also get a siphon to clean the gravel. As far as water quality take a sample of your water to the pet shop and have them test it...if they cant test your water go somewhere else, do you really want to buy fish from people who do not know how to test thier own water?
Moving a Saltwater Tank Crosscountry.?
Moving a Saltwater Tank Crosscountry.?
Wrap the LR in wet newspaper and put it in a cooler. One of those styrophome things will do. Just make sure that it stays damp. You can take the fish with you, but I am guessing it would be real difficult. My suggestion would be to go to the post office or another mailing center and see the best way for them to be mailed to you and have a friend do it when you get there.1. Is it bad if i put my hands in my saltwater tank?I do not think it is a bad thing. Just make sure you wash your hands imminently after. Hot water and strong soap. You should be fine. Please make sure you wash your hands for more then thirty seconds. It is disgusting to me that some people do not care to wash thoroughly.2. What is the difference between staring a freshwater tank and a saltwater tank?Starting a freshwater tank is a lot easier, you just need a decent sized tank for the size and breed of fish, a good filter and pump, and the correct chemicals to make the water safe. Some fish might need a heater.A saltwater aquarium is different, if the water ph hardness is not spot on you can end up with dead fish very quickly, even where you put the tank could affect your fish.Good luck.IF you get a big tank, fancy goldfish are amazing. What is the difference between staring a freshwater tank and a saltwater tank?3. What is a good filter for a saltwater tank?If your live rock and sand is set up and working correctly then all you need is the skimmer. The HOB filter just becomes a nitrate factory and will do more harm then good. You can use it without any filter media to provide flow for the tank. But, just run it with some charcoal and nothing else4. I started a saltwater tank a few days ago and my water is still cloudy why is this????You need to give any tank at least a week for this to clear up5. Question about cycling my saltwater tank?Well you do not need new media but it would be nice to get some new media if it is used you do not need it right away. Second read the bottle of that cycle chemical because it may not be saltwater safe then you will need to get it out. After you put in that cycle stuff start off with damsels just to boost the cycle just in case.6. how can i see the creaters of the dark in a saltwater tank?If the tank is well-established you can usually see nocturnal life easiest with lunar lights over the tank. Flashlights, in my opinion, tend to scare them back into hiding7. Should i use my old freshwater filter media in my new saltwater tank?I am not sure, i do not own saltwater. But if your filter media is dried out than there is no point, because all of the bacteria would be gone. Also, I think saltwater has different requirements than freshwater. I would go against it and just cycle your tank. Bizz8. Help 29 Gallon Saltwater tank ideas? With a 29 Gallon, your Nemos and Zebra will do ok Triggerfish and tangs need 75-100 gallons minimum, so forget those :) -You can look at Goby, like Yellow Watchman goby. (you can pair it up with a Pistol Shrimp) -Royal Gramma -blue Damsels - Skunk Cleaner Shrimp -blennies If you are new to this, I suggest you do extensive research before you start a saltwater tank. It's nothing like freshwater. Make sure you have the money to spend on expensive salt, fish, equipment, live rocks, sand bed, etc. Good luck! :)9. what is everything need to start a saltwater tank?1. A lot of money, in the thousands if you want a 100 gal with coral 2. A lot of patience and hardwork, mostly in studying and researching 3. A pet store ( one that specializes in saltwater tanks or is really good with them is best, no petco or petsmart) 4. heater, filter, regular freshwater tank stuff 5. protein skimmer 6. Lighting, really really really good lighting if you are doing corals 7. live rocks and sand, water 8. Fish, with many hours of research on each buy 9. coral You are gonna have to get most of this info from researching by yourself though Good luck :)
Looking for a Filtered Water Bottle? Here Are 10 of the Best Options for 2020 | WaterZen
Looking for a Filtered Water Bottle? Here Are 10 of the Best Options for 2020 | WaterZen
Looking for a Filtered Water Bottle? Here Are 10 of the Best Options for 2020 | WaterZenWater is the world's most precious resource. It gives us life, it helps us stay clean, and it keeps the world around us alive and vibrant. Many of us who live in developed countries take clean drinking water for granted. For example, Americans shockingly waste 1 trillion gallons of water every year. This statistic is hard to comprehend. And when it's coupled with the staggering amount of plastic that is used and wasted on single-use plastic bottles, we get a better idea of humanity's respect for this incredibly valuable, finite resource. Many people continue to buy single-use plastic bottles because they believe bottled water is healthier and safer than tap water. While this may be true in some areas, around 24% of the bottled water on the market today is just filtered tap water. Plus, tap water is nearly always better regulated than bottled water. This is why we encourage you to do your part for the environment and yourself by investing in a reusable, filtered water bottle. Keep reading for a comprehensive guide on some of the top bottles on the market today, and then you can decide for yourself what is best for you. Before we dive into the list, let's discuss the advantages of using any reusable filtered water bottle with a built-in filtration system. The first and arguably most important advantage has already been discussed: its benefit to the environment. Purchasing one high-quality, long-lasting reusable filtered bottle eliminates the need to buy (and throw out) hundreds, if not thousands, of single-use plastic bottles. Plus, it saves you money in the long run. Even at $1 a pop, buying single-use plastic bottles over and over for weeks and months on end adds up. If you are worried about the hygiene of the water coming from your tap, or if you are out on a hike and run out of water, you can trust a quality filtered water bottle to clean the water you add to it and make it safe for consumption. It's a win/win, really. Also worth mentioning is the fact that all of the top water bottle brands are completely free of Bisphenol A (BPA), a harmful type of plastic that has been linked to numerous health concerns. Now, here are 10 terrific reusable filtered water bottles on the market today. Across the board, product critics agree that the LifeStraw Go bottles are the creme de la creme of filtered water bottles. Made from activated carbon, the filter works to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria and parasites, while also reducing chlorine levels. It also helps to remove any unpleasant odors or aftertastes and can be relied upon to purify water from lakes, streams, and ponds. The bottle is equipped with a replaceable filter and has the capability to clean 4,000 liters before it requires replacement. The second part of the filter that reduces chlorine and improves odor and aftertaste is best replaced after 100 liters. It's on the higher end of the price spectrum, averaging around $40 USD. But its leak-proof functions and durability make it worth the investment. The GRAYL Ultralite Water Purifier is an excellent option for those who spend a lot of time exploring the great outdoors. And for those who prefer not to drink from a straw, this could be the best option. It works by having you fill the bottle up and press down on the container in the middle to activate the filtration system. The process takes roughly 15 seconds and removes 99.9% of all water-borne bacteria and viruses, including hepatitis, cholera, salmonella, and rotavirus. After that, the water is not only clean, filtered, and safe to drink, but it's also odor-free and tasty. This bottle is a bit expensive, costing around $50 USD. But its state-of-the-art filtration system and straw-less consumption make it a worthy contender for the best product out there. Equipped with four different filters, the SurviMate Filtered Water Bottle is another top pick for surviving in the wilderness. Its four filters are made from medical-grade hollow fiber UF membrane, coconut shell-activated carbon, antibacterial beads, and medical-grade PP cotton. These filters work together to eliminate all harmful chemicals, heavy metals, viruses, protozoa, and bacteria, making it one of the best options on the market for outdoor survival. This bottle transforms rainwater, puddles, and any other natural water source into clean, safe, refreshing H2O. Its filter system is replaceable and usually lasts around eight months before requiring replacement. Plus, it's a bit more affordable than the other two we've mentioned so far, averaging around $30 USD. Brita has been a trusted and recognized brand name in water filtration for many years, so it's no surprise they've made a couple of excellent to-go filtered water bottles. Their 20-Ounce Sport Water Bottle is a popular lightweight option for the sport- and exercise-minded types who rely on quality hydration no matter where they are. The filter is made from activated carbon, and the bottle is equipped with a flip-up straw which makes it easy to drink without stopping any physical activity. Made with a classy, sleek design, the KOR Nava water bottle is a great option that filters water as you drink. Some of the other more complicated bottle filtration systems have a wait time before water is drinkable, but not this one. Its carbon-activated filter is made of 100% pure coconut shell and is completely NSF 42-tested and approved. The mouthpiece is made using Easy Flow technology, which makes drinking easy and hands-free. Priced around $20 USD, the KOR Nava is a great option for those who value style and design as much as function, durability, and effectiveness. Available in two handy sizes of 18.4 or 34 ounces and 10 different color options, the Bobble Classic offers a bit more choice than some of its counterparts. Designed mainly for tap water, this bottle uses the industry-standard carbon-activated filtration system to safely remove harmful chemicals and improve the taste of city tap water. The filter is replaceable and should last the equivalent of 300 single-use plastic bottles before replacement. It's on the lower end of the price spectrum at around $12 USD and should not be relied upon when non-treated wilderness water is the only available option. The OKO H2O Level-2 Advanced Water Bottle was designed using the same technology used by the International Space Station. Made from high-quality materials, it has a filter capacity of 100 gallons before replacement is required. Using its dual-stage filtration system, this bottle removes 99.9% of all harmful water-borne bacteria. Plus, it's dishwasher safe and mid-priced at around $30 USD. It allows you to drink safely from any natural water source, including streams, lakes, ponds, and rivers, as well as taps around the world. Using high-tech carbon-activated filtration, it eliminates harmful bacteria and 90% of potentially harmful agricultural elements. A little on the expensive side between $30 and $60 USD, it's certainly worth the investment for those who spend a lot of time in the great outdoors. Ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand, the Refresh2Go Filtered Water Bottle is designed to enhance the taste of potable water from taps or water fountains. Its handy two-straw design lets you drink while the filtration process is taking place. It effectively reduces chlorine levels and improves the odor and taste of tap water. It's affordable at around $8 USD and is designed for city use in countries with safe tap water. Last but not least, the Thermos Certified Tritan Water Bottle is completely NSF and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) 53-certified with a gravity-fed filtration system that is effective in removing 99.9% of harmful bacteria and contaminants from tap water. A big selling feature of this bottle is its fast open-spout flow rate that dispenses water freely without needing to squeeze. It's well-designed, effective, and affordable at around $15 USD. Now that we've given you some options, it's up to you to decide which is the best option for you. If you need a filtered water bottle for long hikes and adventures in the wilderness, the LifeStraw, GRAYL or SurviMate might be the best options for you. These products are on the pricey side but worth every penny when you are drinking from natural sources like streams and ponds. If you are more of a city-dweller, the Refresh2Go, Bobble Classic, or Thermos Tritan are especially effective at reducing chlorine and improving the water's overall taste. The best filtered water bottle is the one that's right for you. Every one of these options is better than single-use plastic bottles. Do your part for the environment and your health by investing in one of these great products.
How to Reduce Evaporation of a Dam/catchment Water Source?
How to Reduce Evaporation of a Dam/catchment Water Source?
How to reduce evaporation of a dam/catchment water source? You can get some mitigation by using oleic acid. This is a simple hydrocarbon with a hydrophilic end. Under still conditions it creates a one molecule thick layer on the surface of the water. Commonly used on swimming pools to reduce heating costs. it's non-poisonous.The downside is it does not shade the water, so the water heats up. Eventually it gets warm enough to evaporate anyway.— — — — — —How can I fix a leaky tap (exterior of the house) that I can't turn off the water source?Turn off your house main, while fixing this. It would behoove you to plan this when no other household members need water. And prepare to do it quickly.I recently had a similar problem, but my house shutoffs did not work either. I had to call a plumber, who called the town, and shut off the water to my house at the street, while the plumber replaced both main shutoffs (either side of the meter) and replaced the leaky exterior faucet shutoff as well. Best practices these days for shutoff valves are "ball valves" as they are less likely to fail than the traditional rubber washers on seats.— — — — — —(How) can I provide reliable water sources in a world of flying islands?Fundamentally you need a large enough body of water for evaporation to occur. There are two options, the simplest is just to have a "water world" with an ocean down below and have the islands floating above it. That could fuel a standard water cycle, with the islands getting rained on with water evaporated from below. Alternatively have the water float in the same way the islands do, with floating lakes and oceans hanging in mid air. Waterfalls would run from the lakes and oceans into each other. If your floating islands move then the water cycle could include drifting under a waterfall. If not then a conventional evaporate-precipitate cycle could hydrate them all fueled by the lakes and oceans— — — — — —Do most carpet cleaning companies use the customer's water source or do they bring their own?Truck fastened units have a heated answer tank and separate restoration tank. I even have seen portables that are designed to clear out restoration water yet I even have not seen this on truck mounts (contained in the van they stress up on your place with) while you are worried, merely ask while accumulating expenditures it they use separate answer and restoration tanks. Duct cleansing may be executed via a broom on the tip of a line reminiscent of a drain snake, or via ultrasonics. Spend extra time thinking the duct cleansing contractors and be arranged to pay for high quality provider. many times conversing, carpets and ducts could be 2 diverse businesses. in case you like it executed real, save for information, not value. verify the links decrease than and "google" it before you question your contractors. comprehend what to invite and you is often extra chuffed with the outcomes— — — — — —Please help me turn off sprinkler water source? You need to locate where the water main "T's" off to your irrigation system. At THAT "T" connection is where many plumbers will pipe in a ball valve(which is not labeled irrigation usually) that will have a handle you can turn a quarter turn to shut completely. If that valve is not located at the T it should be located by your sprinkler zone valves, it will usually be right before the header that holds your individual spinkler zone valves. Hope this helps.— — — — — —Is it important to put drinking troughs for horses in the meadows when there is no natural water source?Yes. If you do not have anything out there, they could become dehydrated, which I do not think you want to do. It's kinda like you going outside for lets say 7 hours and not being allowed to drink. See what I mean now?— — — — — —I need some alternative water sources?I like the rain water answer, I will do that also, but . I will filter mine with, large particle filter, active charcoal filter, UV light filter. 3 in a row, for the grandkids health. E- coli.— — — — — —In conditions of drought, do trees survive by growing new roots to tap into water sources, or do they survive by relying on established roots that already go deep?Hello trevor yes trees rely on their roots already established they will lose leaves if they cant find reliable water sources
What Would Happen to the Airplane If You Shot One of the Windows?
What Would Happen to the Airplane If You Shot One of the Windows?
What would happen to the airplane if you shot one of the windows? The aircraft would slowly decompress. There are no big explosions or things getting sucked out. Think of it this way; take a water balloon and put a pin hole in it. The water would slowly trickle out. Now if you were to make a bigger hole, let's say with scissors, all the water would rush out at once. So it would take a big hole to cause sudden decompression. HotShot, sorry, it would decompress very slowly until it is brought down below 10K feet.— — — — — —How does all that water get up the mountain?Rain, snow are the most probable sources for these water— — — — — —Dropped my phone in water...?Take battery out and put the cell and battery in a closed container with DRY noodles or rice etc . and leave it in it for a day or two . all the water will be absorbed in the noodles. i have had this happen to me and even stupidly played w. the cell after thinking it would work until someone told me to do this and my $400 cell phone was saved— — — — — —i dont like water how do i drink it with the same nutrition?water makes ur mouth dry?? what u got a sponge up there that's sucking up all the water? i dont like the taste??? what taste does water have ?? have u ever heard the phrase "it taste like water" that basically means its bland.....— — — — — —How long does it take for fresh water to evaporate? How much water, what temperature, what relative humidity, what pressure? No way to answer your question without knowing those numbers. A µL of water at 300° in a vacuum will evaporate immediately. I think you will admit that if we cut off all the water going into Lake Superior it will still take hundreds of years to evaporate. Lake Baikal, which has a smaller surface area than Superior, but even more volume will take even longer— — — — — —Best way to keep your fish tank clean?Weekly water changes of 25-50%, with a gravel vacuum. Done this way, all the water you are removing comes from the bottom, also pulling up any poo or leftover food that is between the gravel. That is for just routine cleaning.— — — — — —how to separate oil, salt, and water?First to extract the oil, use some kind of organic solvent like Methanol and separate the aqueous and the organic layer. Vapor out the methanol and you will have the oil. From the remaining aqueous layer, distill out the water completely and collect the water. When you distill all the water, salt will be the only thing left in the flask. I hope this helps.— — — — — —I have $20. What is the most useful thing I can buy?Hmm trust me when I say I can get you the largest thing possible for $20.First you go to the woods (walk to save money) and find 5 large logs that you can roll and take to a beach. Then go the the nearest convenience store and buy a waterproof rope for $10. Then buy a large poster board for $2 and a meter stick for $1. Also buy a few markers which cost $3.So at this point youu2019ve spent 16 dollars and have almost everything you need.Take some time and draw up a flag and declare that the flag of your country. Then tie the logs together very tightly and drift out to sea. Once you make it really far out plant your flag and declare all the water within a hunred miles your water.BAM you just got a WHHOOOOOOLE chunk of water only for $16u2026. I have $20. What is the most useful thing I can buy? What is the biggest thing you can buy for $20?— — — — — —Why would a ship that is able to recycle all water consumed have trouble running out of water?Previous answers are spot-on, but there are other (perhaps even major) points of water loss that each overlooks that would cause loss even in a system with 100% recycling efficiency:People transferring from ship to ship. If an individual comes from another ship in the fleet and eats and/or drinks while aboard the Galactica, then departs, the quantity of water they've consumed is a net loss to the Galactica's reserves. While individually small, these losses would tend to accumulate over time, although they would be partially offset by people boarding the Galactica (perhaps even enough to roughly balance). Atmospheric loss. There is a large volume of air aboard Galactica, which contains water vapor. As air is lost, some of this water vapor is also lost and will be replaced through evaporation.Open-ended chemical processes. Human consumption is not the only drain on water; water is likely also used for other purposes, some of which may be open-ended (non-recycling). Food export. Galactica is shown during the series to be a major source of food, etc. for other ships in the fleet. Assuming that at least some of this is produced aboard Galactica (and not just prepackaged provisions), this would be a steady drain on her water resources.Absorption of atmospheric moisture. Many materials are hygroscopic, that is, they absorb moisture from the atmosphere, which is a net loss to the overall water supply. who noted this in the comments
What Does Solar Water Lifting Irrigation Bring to Arid Areas
What Does Solar Water Lifting Irrigation Bring to Arid Areas
China's first solar water lifting and drought relief system has been successfully operated in Henan recently, which has well solved the problem of farmland irrigation in areas with water and no electricity, and has become a demonstration of successful drought relief and wheat irrigation with new energy. From the second half of 2010 to the beginning of this year, a severe drought seriously threatened the main wheat producing areas such as Henan and Shandong.Farmers in Fangcheng County, Henan Province are even more anxious. Fangcheng county built a water well for every 100 mu of cultivated land with the loan of the world bank a few years ago. However, due to the lack of emergency power supply, they looked at the water in the well, but they couldn't lift water to irrigate the cracked wheat field.Knowing this situation, China energy conservation and environmental protection corporation immediately sent people to Fangcheng County for field investigation. According to the specific situation of the site, it quickly launched China's energy conservation "sunshine drought relief project" to use solar energy to lift water for irrigation to support drought relief in Henan.Recommended by Guo Tiancai, a professor and wheat expert of Henan Agricultural University, and led by Hu Yanmin, deputy head of the county government stationed by Henan Agricultural University to focus on science and technology in Fangcheng, the solar water lifting and drought resistance system was finally determined to be put into use in the experimental area for comprehensive reform of changing agricultural development mode in Zhaohe Town, Fangcheng.According to the plan, a small solar power station with an installed capacity of 7 kW has been installed. After intense debugging, on February 11, when the sun rose, the clear well water continuously flowed into the dry wheat field, moistening the thirsty wheat seedlings. The solar water lifting and drought resistance system was successfully operated at one time, and the drought of 10000 mu of experimental good farmland was alleviated.
