I waited about an hour then looked again, the droplets in the bottom of the glass seemed to have coalesced into a single droplet, smaller than the original drop when first added. The haze was no longer apparent. I again swirled the solution, once more the droplets readily broke into many miniscule droplets and a haze was again visible above the bottom of the vessel. I set the experiment aside and went to bed. In the morning, when I checked, there were no droplets visible in the bottom of the glass and no haze floating above the bottom of the vessel. My conclusion is that "YES, isopropyl alcohol did indeed disolve the oil." I feel confident in these results that, there is protection in alcohol based hand sanitizer using Isopropyl alcohol.
